26 Fake Wallet Apps Found on Apple App Store

Fake wallet apps have been found on Apple’s App Store that pretend to be real cryptocurrency wallets. These apps can trick people into revealing secret recovery information and private keys, which could let thieves take their money.

Who Is at Risk

Anyone using or downloading cryptocurrency wallet apps on an iPhone or iPad is at risk, especially people who store digital money in these apps.

What to Watch For

Be cautious of wallet apps that seem unfamiliar, ask for recovery words or secret keys, or send you to a web page instead of using the normal app setup.

What to Do

Only use wallet apps from the official company you know, and never enter your recovery words or private keys into a website or app you did not install and verify yourself.
